Enrollment
SHSID enrolls qualified international students including
overseas Chinese students from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao
and other countries.
II. Grades
4---6 (Primary); 7---9 (Junior High); 10---12 (Senior High)
III. Academic Calendar
A school year is divided into two semesters; the first semester
starts on September 1st and concludes around the end of
January. The 2nd semester begins in February and ends in
late June. The summer vacation spans from July to August,
and winter vacation is three weeks around the Spring Festival.
Other holidays include: two days for Spring Holiday, two
days for Autumn Holiday, two days for Christmas, one day
for New Year¡¯s Day, the holiday period for Labor Day and
the National Day is subject to notification from the Shanghai
Municipal Government.
IV. School Hours
School hours are: 8:15~15:50. Lunch period is 12:05~13:10.
Shuttle buses send students back home at 16:03.
V. Dormitory
Those who are in the 7th grade and above, whose homes are
beyond the reach of the shuttle bus can apply for boarding.
The boarding students are required to come to school from
7:00~8:00 p.m. each Sunday and leave the school on Friday
afternoon. During the weekdays, the boarding students are
required to participate in the morning exercises and evening
self-study class. The dormitory is run by professional dormitory
supervisors.
VI. Shuttle Buses
SHSID offers shuttle buses service for day students. There
is no shuttle bus on the morning of the first day of a new
semester, from that afternoon on, school bus service will
begin.
VII. Cafeteria
SHSID has three cafeterias, offering 3 meals a day. Meals
are provided for the students at a fixed daily rate. Students
may bring their own lunch. Microwaves and refrigerators
are available.
