Shanghai High School (SHS) has systematically and successfully set up a two-language, three-section, and five-type school curriculum. In this setting, two sections and four types have incorporated highly selective courses. Under this curriculum system, SHS offers a top-quality education for its students, as shown by the success rate of our students for gaining admission into top colleges and universities. The acceptance rate for local graduates is consistently around 97%, and it reached 98.4% for the class graduating in spring 2006; 65.5% of the graduates entered Beijing University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University or Jiao Tong University. Over 85% of the international graduates who applied were accepted into Beijing University; 90% of our graduates who come from Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan were accepted to top Chinese universities; 90% of the international graduates were accepted to top foreign universities. This outstanding result is not only rare in China, but also worldwide.
