Shanghai
High School has 178 Chinese teachers and 43 expatriate teachers.
Additionally, thirty Chinese teachers have obtained their
master or doctorate degrees from institutions abroad. Eleven
teachers are also Master Teachers: Mr. Tang Shengchang (Mathematics),
Mr. Zhu Zhenyi (English), Mr. Kong Fangang (History), Ms.
Yin Zhihui (Chemistry), Ms. Chen Hong (Chinese), Mr. Weng
Taiji (Mathematics), Mr. Lv Baoxing (Mathematics), Mr. Feng
Zhigang (Mathematics), Mr. Fu Gang (Art), Mr. Wu Liren (Biology)
and Mr. Wang Hui (P.E.). Mr. Tang Shengchang, Mr. Zhu Zhenyi,
and Mr. Kong Fangang also hold highly prestigious positions
as committee members of the Academic Title Examination and
Appraisal Association for the Shanghai Board of Education.
Moreover, Mr. Tang is the chairperson of the Mathematics
subject area for the Examination and Appraisal Association
of the Shanghai Board of Education. Many of our teachers
have won numerous awards, and continue to hold a variety
of positions in Shanghai as well as around China that are
related to their field of expertise.
Teachers at Shanghai High School with
doctorate and master degrees comprise 35% of the overall
teaching staff. Currently, there are more than 100 teachers
that can use both Chinese and English in the classroom.
The school actively participates in international educational
exchanges, and its teachers incorporate ideas from around
the world into their lessons. About one-third of the teachers
have studied or participated in overseas exchange programs
in a variety of places, including the United States, England,
Canada, Australia, Japan, and other locations.
